REPORTING OPTIONS

These reporting options are available to Idaho hospitals submitting data to the Idaho Trauma Registry as required by Idaho Code Title 57 Chapter 20:

Facilities with On-Site Trauma Registries

Facilities with hospital based trauma registries must use a designated staff person (trauma registrar) to submit data to the Idaho Trauma Registry (ITR).  If the trauma registrar becomes delinquent in reporting, ITR staff are available to assist the facility with abstracting.  This service can be used one time per year for a one-week duration as this service is meant only to assist with backlog.  Fees for this service are $30.00 per hour (for each abstractor) plus travel expenses.

Outsourcing companies can be hired which will abstract and report your cases to meet the state’s reporting requirements.  The fees for this type of service vary.

Web-Based Data Entry

A designated staff person must be assigned to report trauma cases meeting the state’s inclusion criteria.  This person must meet established standards for submitting complete, timely and accurate data to the Idaho Trauma Registry.  There are no charges to the hospital for using ITR’s web-based reporting system.

Facilities with 20 or Fewer Reportable Cases per Month

Hospitals with 20 or fewer trauma cases per month are eligible for on-site data abstraction from an Idaho Trauma Registry registrar.  Cases meeting inclusion criteria shall be pulled and available on-site for the registrar to abstract on a quarterly basis.   There are no fees to hospitals with small caseloads to use ITR’s abstracting staff to report eligible trauma cases to ITR
